Everyone has a sweet tooth, and one thing that can satisfy that sweet tooth is chocolate. From the young to the old, couples, singles, family, friends - everyone loves chocolates! It has the power to transform whole villages, like the movie Chocolat. It can rekindle passion, start a new relationship, and even cheer somebody up.

Chocolat’s plot is not wholly fiction. You really can ascribe tons of great things to chocolate. For this reason, chocolate remains a reliable bet when choosing gifts for your partner this Valentines Day.

Why Chocolate? Here are our best arguments.

It symbolizes romance. Chocolates have forever been present in courting rituals, from the time of the Aztecs to the present. It symbolizes affection and shows attraction. In ancient times, it was even perceived as a love potion. That’s why, up to this day, chocolates remain in any ritual of love.

In the old days, the process of making chocolates from cacao seeds was tedious, and the product - chocolate - was worth offering to gods in rituals. Applying that gesture to these modern times may not be as inconvenient as it was before, but the thought of being given this exquisite luxury never fails to bring joy and show value to the recipient.

Chocolate is sensual. But who says it’s just about romance? Valentines is the time to get down and dirty and no better aphrodisiac exists than chocolate.

Chocolate is sinfully tempting. Its delicious blend melts in your mouth and moves slowly down your throat. Indeed, nothing else communicates total depravity better than the rich and silky texture of chocolate. If you want Valentines Day to be just about indulging each other’s fantasies, chocolate is the route that you have to take.

Like the theory about sex and chocolates, the latter also produces the same “feel good” chemical that is present during sex. If you’re going to enjoy one, might as well enjoy the other. Chocolate can definitely put you in the mood.

Chocolates are best enjoyed with your lover. Since Valentine’s Day is generally celebrated by couples, the gift you share or receive, especially chocolates, can truly be enjoyed with your partner. Take advantage of the opportunities that chocolate provides.

How about visiting a specialty shop and using their selection to get to know your partner better? Certain personality types go with specific preferences, and it would be fun to guess what it means for our partner to want his/ hers dark with mint.

You’re only limited by your own creativity on this one! Visit a chocolate cooking or baking class together, go to a chocolate buffet, or, if you’re feeling extra frisky, get a “chocolate body paint kit” (brush included), and paint up a storm. The opportunities are endless, so play with it all you want!

Chocolate is good for you. Since the overall message of Valentine’s is love, then chocolate is the best messenger for this particular message!

While there are so many myths saying how chocolates are bad for you, in reality, it’s actually quite good for the health. Chocolate is rich in antioxidants that lower blood pressure and help prevent heart disease. Dark chocolate has been found out to significantly lower bad cholesterol in the body. Because chocolate is good for the heart, think about what it can do your relationship!
